Happy
Halloween!!! Some local businesses are
offering a chance for children 12 and under to trick or treat tonight from
5-7. Visit these participating merchants for goodies: A & B Printing,
Brownsville Funeral Home (they’ll bet set up on the courthouse lawn),
Brownsville Police Department, Divas Boutique, Family Flower Shop, Haywood
Park Community Hospital, Lytle Computers, Merle Norman, Rayz Tanning Salon,
Sugar Creek Retirement Center, T-Shirt Plus and Wal-Mart Super Center. It’s
important that our children feel safe when trick or treating and I think this
is a great opportunity to start a new tradition. I hope you’re ready to start
your holiday shopping, and more importantly I hope you plan on doing it right
here in Brownsville. You can preview what local merchants are showcasing this
year by attending the Holiday Open House planned for next Sunday, November 9.
(This was originally planned for Nov. 2.) You’ll get first dibs on the best
selections. Open House Locations. And then, Nov. 14-16, you will
have another opportunity to shop locally and find very unique gift items,
too. I’m talking about Holiday in Haywood, a 3-day shopping mart event. I’m
only beginning to hear about all the neat stuff that will be available at
this event. I’ll fill you in more next week. Just go ahead and mark those
days on the calendar now. Today is the last day to get in
your nominations for man, woman, business and volunteer of the year. Call the
Chamber to make your nominations. Winners will be announced at the Nov. 13
Chamber Membership Banquet. If you haven’t voted yet, please remember to do so
Tuesday. ~ Sonia Don't forget your Christmas Parade entry. It's time to begin
planning and building. Join the Conversation: AAB Blog List your Community Event here! |
