All About Brownsville

& Haywood County

August 20, 2009

Volume 5, Issue 31

Congratulations to Dr. Sue McElrath! Time sure flies. It doesn’t seem like 10 years since All Care Chiropractic opened. I hope you will make plans to help her celebrate the anniversary on Tuesday from 3-5 p.m.

I finally have pictures from the State of the School celebration posted, and a short article about the event. Check out the AAB News page for some other added items, too.

Lots of activities this week and just about all of them offers a chance to enjoy a good meal. Why is it Southern folks - or maybe it’s just Haywood County folks - plan our fundraisers and social events around eating? Well, whatever the reason, I’m all for it. If we can eat and support worthwhile causes at the same time, why not? This week’s causes include the Friends of the NRA, March of Dimes, Boys & Girls Club and Holly Grove Church. All the details are below.

Have you marked October 17 on your calendar yet? That’s the date for this year’s Hatchie Fall Fest. I have lots of updating to do on the festival’s website this weekend. Give me a few days and then check out the schedule of events and entertainers. Headlining this year’s festival is “Ain’t Yo Mama, “ Crossroads, and “Roses Unread.” There is also a whole host of local favorites like David Smith - The Singing Firefighter, The Barnett’s, HHS Show Choir and more.
