A solar farm in Brownsville. Sounds really exotic, doesn’t it? With
last week’s news about MTD, it encouraging knowing that something positive is
in the works. I can’t wait to here more about this initiative. If nothing
else it has Brownsville in the national spotlight. Read Bredesen’s press release. And speaking of positive – have you seen the Welcome to Brownsville
banners that have sprang up along Anderson. They extend from the interstate
and up West Main and are a project of the Brownsville Business Association.
You’ll notice a name at the bottom of each banner. Please tell these businesses
how much you appreciate their efforts to help attract visitors from the
interstate. And, if you are interested in sponsoring a banner, please let me
know or any BBA Board Member. The more banners we can get up
the bigger impact these flags will have. Dining with Diabetes is back for the summer and will be held June 4,
11, 18 and 25, on Thursday evening from 5:30 – 7 p.m., at the UT Extension
office. Classes are free and UT and Haywood Park are again sponsoring this
program. Remember you must pre-register. Call the Extension office at
731-772-2861. If you still have children in school this will definitely interest
you. There will be a Dress Code Consignment Sale June 5 and 6 at Anderson
Grammar School. You can buy and sell used clothing. I’ll post more details
next week, but if you want more info now - call the Board of Education
(731-772-9613) for the contact person. If you have old paint or antifreeze taking up room at your house or
garage, get it all together for Saturday’s Hazardous Waste Day at the
Recycling Center. See below for a list of acceptable items. It’s doesn’t cost
a dime, so now’s a good time to get rid of that hazardous clutter. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog List your Community Event here! |
