Holiday in Haywood was another big success. We estimated approximately 1,000 people through the doors again this year. I hope you were able to attend and to get some, if not all, of your Christmas shopping done. I know several who just about completed their list. A special thanks goes to Monica Bivins for her help in organizing this year’s event. And an extra special thank you to the community for your support. Deadline is coming up for the portrait package being offered by Lasco Relay for Life team on Wednesday, November 25. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. The portraits will make a great gift. To get details and purchase a certificate, call one of the numbers listed in the calendar below. It’s not too late to participate in this year’s Christmas Parade. Download an entry form. Deadline for entry is November 30. Parade is December 5. And if you are a business, you might be interested in the Brownsville Business Association Decorating Contest. Cash prizes will be awarded and you do not have to be a member to participate. Get an entry form here. It’s not too late to adopt a child, or family, from the Carl Perkins Center to provide Christmas for this year. These are children that will otherwise go without. If you or your group can sponsor a child, please contact the center at 731-772-8378. They will provide you with a wish list and all the information you'll need to help make a child's Christmas wish come true. This will be the last AAB this month. I’m going to take next week off to enjoy a little Cajun turkey and green bean casserole. Oh, and some deviled eggs. I can’t forget the deviled eggs they are one of Steve’s favorites. I hope you will enjoy your Thanksgiving, too. Plan to attend the Community Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 24, at First United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited. Service is at 7 p.m. There are also a couple of community Thanksgiving meals planned. See the calendar below for details. Happy Thanksgiving! ~ Sonia Join the
