& Haywood County September 9, 2009 Volume
5, Issue 33 |
|
Tomorrow begins a
long holiday weekend. Remember that the Brownsville Police Department and
Haywood County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints
and saturations all weekend. They will not only be checking for DUI, but seat
belt use and other violations, too. Be safe and whatever you do, if you’re
going to drink – designate a driver. On August 21, BPD also began
implementing the ‘Drunk Driving. Over the Limit.
Under Arrest’ initiative. Learn more … It is so hard for me to believe
it’s September already. The holidays will be here before we know it. The
Brownsville Business Association is making plans for this year’s Holiday in Haywood and the Rescue Squad is working
on the Christmas Parade. Before that we have Golf Tournaments, Run/Walks, Car
Shows, Hatchie Fall Fest, Trick or Treat with Me, and lots of other exciting
events. (Don’t forget to e-mail me your events!) It’s going to be
busy, but lots of fun. Do you have any suggestions,
comments or ideas about upcoming events? Leave your thoughts on the AAB Blog and contact me if you are interested in
volunteering. In my opinion, there is no better way to really learn about
your community than through volunteering, plus you get to meet and work with
lots of cool people. If you check the Blog site
regularly, you already know about the adopt-a-teacher program. If you haven’t,
please go there and learn how you can help encourage a local teacher. Enjoy a safe and happy Labor Day
weekend!!! ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog If you have an event coming up that isn’t listed on the Calendar, e-mail details to sonia@outlawdesignmarketing.com. |
