All About Brownsville

& Haywood County

April 8, 2010

Volume 6, Issue 13

I'm excited about today's ground breaking for the new skate park. It's at 4 p.m. and located beside East Side School on East Jefferson. Everyone is invited.

Busy week ahead. If you haven't attended a high school baseball game lately, think about it. I've listed in the calendar when our teams are playing at home. I hope you will find time to go out and show support for the players.

It's been a while since Brownsville had a Spring Tour of Homes. This is always a popular thing to do and I hope you will make plans to visit the six homes that will be on display this Sunday from 2-5. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in honor of Claire Russell. Details and a listing of the homes on the tour are below.

Also, while you are out and about Sunday, stop by the Heritage Center to meet Zach Wamp, candidate for governor. He'll be at the Center from 2-4 p.m.

Relay for Life fundraisers are still happening all over town. Keep a check on the calendar for upcoming event. Next Thursday Brownsville Utility Department will hold a hamburger/hot dog sale. Be sure and pick up a plate or two.
