Thank you to everyone who attended the Concert on the
Porch Saturday at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. It was a great crowd
and a wonderful concert. Both musicians have such a range of voice. Tom
Morgan was a true blessing and Bailie really had the crowd jumping with her
rendition of 'Proud Mary." It is Tina Turner Country, ya know! The TN Trash-Bash Cruizin was also a big success. I
think I heard that over $900 was raised for the Humane Society. Lots of
people from Lexington, Memphis, and Brighton and Atoka. All had good things
to say about Brownsville. We had visitors from New Zealand stop at the
Heritage Center and ask what there was to do around here. We sent them into
town to eat and then to the car show. When I went up to the car show, they
were walking around. Turns out the two guys were real car enthusiasts and
they had a blast taking pictures and looking at all the classic cars. Big turnout for the Special Olympics Celebration
Thursday afternoon. The team arrived in style, in a limo, and were sporting
their medals. Special thanks to Hayden Hooper for pulling that all together.
The team was really excited. Labor Day weekend is coming up and I hope you will
choose to celebrate responsibly. The Brownsville Police Department will be
conducting Sobriety Checkpoints beginning at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 3, through
midnight Monday, Sept. 6. More about the initiative to crackdown on impaired
driving on the AAB News Page. Golfers, take note... the Haywood County EMS will
sponsor a benefit tournament Thursday, September 9, at the Brownsville
Country Club. Cost is $200 per 4-man team and tee off is at 10 a.m. For more
info and to register, call 731-772-4979. All proceeds will go to Dustin
Milton for current and future medical expenses. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
