I love snow, but I've had enough. Especially of the ice
that is hanging around. Always heard if it hangs around more than 3 days,
it's waiting on the next one. Hope it's wrong this time. Had a wonderful time in Nashville last Wednesday night.
I had the privilege of attending the opening reception for "We Shall Not
Be Moved," an exhibit honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Nashville
Sit-ins. If you have an opportunity to go to Nashville in the next month or
so, stop by the Tennessee State Museum and check it out. I'm working on several traveling exhibits for the
Heritage Center. You'll be hearing about them in the coming months. It's Valentine's weekend. Start it off right by taking
your sweetheart to the Valentine's Ball Friday at the National Guard Armory.
Tickets are $20 per person, and includes live entertainment, food and
dancing. Tickets will be available at the door and all proceeds benefit the
American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Hope to see you there! You still have a day or two to shop local merchants and register to win a Valentine's Basket valued at over $1,000. Visit these merchants to register: Merle Norman & Traditions Gifts, The Economy Store, Brownsville Religious Center, Kimmie's Image Salon, Pat's Fabrics, Nationwide Insurance, Morris Jewelers, All That's Victoria, Fine Things, Rayz Tanning, Kreme Kastle, Backyard Barbecue, T-shirts Plus and the YMCA. Brownsville Homecoming III has been rescheduled for
February 19. Your January 30th tickets will be honored. Like red beans and rice? This year's Leadership Class is
sponsoring a Mardi Gras fundraiser next Tuesday at lunch. Details are below. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
