Seems strange that someone would receive an award for
being involved in an auto accident, but that sometimes happens. Lt. Barry
Diebold presented two such awards at the February 9 City Board Meeting. See
the recipients and learn more on the news page. The Brownsville Business Association installed its 2010 Board of Directors Tuesday night. The new directors are John Ashworth, Albert Campbell, Kay Kirkland, Pat Bailey, Harvey Livingston, Kent Moore and Scottie Morris. I'll post a picture soon on the BBA website: www.shopbrownsvilletn.com. I have to tell you about an exciting event being planned
for May. It's called Haywood's Got Talent. It's presented by I PROMise to
Strive for a Bright Future, a program of UT
Extension. Auditions will be held and those chosen will compete May 8, at
College Hill for a great prize package. The prize hasn't completely been
worked out yet, but part of it will be that the winner gets to perform at the
Hatchie Fall Fest in October. There is more details about Haywood's Got
Talent on the news page, and of course I'll be talking more about it as time
approaches. If you are a diabetic, or someone who cares for one, you
will want to check out the next Dining for Diabetes class beginning March 3.
This class is free, but you must pre-register. If you've been putting off
attending this class thinking you will catch the next one, I understand this
may the last one (or at least the last one offered free). Don't procrastinate
any longer, call 731-772-2861.. Mark your calendar for the Carl Perkins Annual Dinner
and Auction coming up March 13. This year's theme is "Peace, Love and
Happy Children." ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
