July 1. Can you believe it? Where has the time
gone? Hope you have plans for a big 4th of July holiday. We will be open at
the Heritage Center and of course free popsicles for the kids (of all ages).
Come see us and bring your whole family. We're open all weekend and Monday,
too. Are you on facebook? Please "like" the
Heritage Center and keep up with what's happening there. I'll also be on Brownsville Radio this morning
talking about the Center, so tune in to 95.3 FM. Did you get a chance to go by and visit with our
outgoing mayor and vice mayor this past Tuesday? Here are a few random pictures from the
event. Our Haywood High School Special Olympics team is
heading for Lincoln, Nebraska, next week to compete in the National Olympics.
There will be a special send-off celebration for them on the courthouse lawn
Tuesday, July 13 at 4 p.m. Hope you can turn out to wish these kids well. A couple of businesses are celebrating an
anniversary this month - Fine Things has been in business 5 years and Pat's
Fabrics is celebrating 2 years. Drop by and congratulate them on their
success. There is an official Ribbon Cutting for the new
Skate Board Park at East Side this morning at 9 a.m. This has been in the
works for a while and I know a lot of kids around town are looking forward to
using this park. Fifth Annual Kid's Day, sponsored by the Chamber
and Parks and Rec., is planned for Wednesday, July 14, at Volunteer Park. If
you can volunteer to bake some cookies or help in any way, call the Chamber
at 731-772-2193, or Parks and Rec. at 731-772-6693. I will be traveling throughout West Tennessee
next week promoting the Heritage Center and Brownsville and will not send a
newsletter next Thursday. As always there are many events happening so please
check out the calendar below and keep an eye on the online calendar for updates
and additions. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
