If you weren't at the Delta Heritage Center last
Saturday, you missed a great concert and an awesome sunset. The two were
perfectly paired and almost seemed like it was planned. A special thank you
to Wildwood Express and all the other performers at this year's Concert on
the Porch series. And thank you to everyone who has attended one or more of
the concerts. I hope you enjoyed them. Is this something you would like to
see continue next summer? Please share your comments on the new Delta Heritage Center Blog. Have you seen Haywood County School's scarecrow entry on
the courthouse lawn? Get your Scarecrow Entry forms in. Deadline is
October 4. The Hatchie Fall Fest is fast approaching and I hope you
are keeping an eye on the festival website for updates and a
complete schedule of events. We'll be updating this often between now and
October 16. Make plans to come out and hear all the great Brownsville music -
including Mickey Utley and Alex Harvey. Are you a Ham Radio operator or interested in how they
work and how they are used in emergencies? You'll want to visit the Special
Events Station that will be set up at Oneal Lake October 16-17. The Haywood
County Amateur Radio Group will be out there to help spread awareness of the
National Wildlife Refuge system. Here's more ... The Exchange Club is taking orders for this year's Field
of Flags. Flags are $25 and can be purchased in honor or memory. Flag Order Form. September 19-25, was Child Passenger Safety
Week and, although it is past, it's something we all have had to think about
at one time or another. Here are some guidelines from the
Brownsville Police Department that will help. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
